In addition to Meals on Wheels and the Horizon House Transitional Shelter, the Human Resource Council provides additional support services.

Additional Support

As our organization has grown, so has our awareness to the needs of our clients and community. Throughout the year, we facilitate annual drives and events to meet those needs.

Fans, Heaters, and Blankets


HRC conducts annual fan, heater, and blanket drives, and then distributes to Meals on Wheels recipients, Horizon House clients, and households with children in the home

New Box fans may be donated May 1st through July 31st

Hotel Stays


In cases of emergency, individuals who are not eligible for entry to Horizon House may be eligible for Hotel assistance

Transportation Assistance


In cases of emergency, individuals who are not eligible for entry to Horizon House may be eligible may be eligible for transportation assistance, including Metro Passes or Bus Tickets.

Pet Food Program


Meals on Wheels recipients of Lamar County may be eligible for 1 bag of cat food or 1 bag of dog food every 90 days when food is available

Pet Food donations may be made year round at our administrative office, or by drop shipping to 1273 NW 19th Street, Paris, Tx 75460

Stay Cool Lamar County


In partnership with Paris EMS, Meals on Wheels recipients or households with children in the home may be eligible to receive assistance with a window unit

Warming & Cooling Station


Horizon House Admin offers a warming station in the winter and a cooling station in the summer. Anyone needing to cool off or warm up may stop by 450 SW 4th St. in Paris. The station is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm year round, and serves food & drinks.
